Question about Eurche Rules?
If you are the dealer and everyone passed in the first round. The top card is a bower can you pick it up even though that is the only trump you have in your hand.
I was told you can't do that unless you have another card to match the bower.
For example the top card is a Jack of Spades....
I am holding Ace of Hearts, Ace of Diamonds, Ace and King of Clubs, and a 9 of Clubs.
As the dealer can I choose to pick it up and make it trump?
Also can you state your source....The folks I play with a serious about cards....LOL but then again so am I.
Thank you so much I checked out that internet site. I think that rule was put into effect to keep junior players from making silly mistakes.
I was never taught that you can't pick it up. It's unwise to, but you can do it.
EDIT: Rules according to Hoyle also has no mention of it being illegal.
