Is a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo a reliable car?
I've been shopping for used cars on Craigslist and I saw a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo w/134,000 miles on it. (It's bright pink w/grey racing stripes and pink and chrome 22" rims! 
) I don't have all of the details of course, but are they generally reliable? Will the car shortly begin to konk out on me shortly after I buy it or will it go clear past 200,000 or 250,000 miles...?
For example, I live in the L.A. area, I'm a college student, but my parents live near San Francisco and I wanted to drive home one weekend a month....will the Monte Carlo make it? And will I still be able to use it as my daily driver?
What engine is it? The 3.8 is the most reliable but both of the engines have an intake gasket problem. It sounds like this car was well cared for and thats the most important thing. Have a mechanic check it out if he says its ok then I would buy it.
